Selection Process and Important Deadlines

Applicants who have worked as paid employees for a local WIC agency in California for six consecutive months prior to the preselection deadline, are eligible for the preselection process.  The deadline for submission of preselection applications is Friday, January 15, 2021.

In the preselection process, applicants who meet the eligibility criteria are scheduled for a telephone
interview with the Internship Coordinator and a member of the Selection Committee.  Applications are then forwarded to the Selection Committee for review. The Selection Committee then appoints individuals to internship positions.  If all 6 internship positions are not filled with California WIC employees, the remaining open positions will be filled during the Spring Computer Match.

In the Spring Computer match, applicants who meet eligibility criteria are scheduled for a telephone interview with the Internship Coordinator and a member of the Selection Committee.  Applicants do not need to be a WIC employee to qualify for this round of the application process.  Applications are then forwarded to the Selection Committee for review.  For this part of the selection process, our program follows the Spring Computer Match deadlines posted on the D&D Digital website. The Selection Committee ranks applicants, and these rankings are submitted to D&D Digital.  Matched applicants are notified in April.

We will be using the DICAS system for both the preselection process for California WIC employees, and for the Spring Computer Match.

Please note, WIC employees who apply in the preselection process and who were not appointed to an internship
position, are encouraged to re-apply during the Spring Computer Match process. These applicants do need to complete required information for D&D Digital. For more information, please visit: www.dnddigital.com.

Acceptance into this program is not influenced by age, sex, language, race, religion, marital status, sexual orientation, national origin, or ancestry.
