Learn about both of our program tracks: MS/DI and DI only, how to find employment in WIC, our RDN exam study program, and more in our recorded Central Valley WIC Dietetic Internship Open House.
Hear what our 2023 MS/DI Interns are saying!
We asked our 2023 Interns about their favorite parts of the MS/DI program, their experiences with preceptors, and what they wish other people knew about the program. Listen to their responses, in their own words, below.
The Central Valley WIC Dietetic Internship currently offers two tracks:
Track 1: Combined Master's Degree/Dietetic Internship Program, in collaboration with Russell Sage College, for applicants who need a fully online master's degree and an on-site dietetic internship;
Track 2: Dietetic Internship Program, for applicants who already have a master's degree.
"The structure of your program is awesome, with just two classes at a time. I think this is the best way to set it up, because you get to work and prepare for your rotations. It's more manageable than I thought it would be. I did a lot of research, and your program has been so flexible." - 2022 MS/DI Intern Graduate
- November 1, 2024: Application deadline for CDPH WIC employees. Applications need to be submitted through DICAS (Dietetics Inclusive Centralized Application System).
- We have four open positions for our combined MS/DI track. Selected applicants will start their online graduate classes in May, 2025, and their rotations in January, 2027, in the Fresno/Central Valley area.
- We also have three open positions for applicants who already have a master's degree. Selected applicants will start their rotations in January 2025, in the Fresno/Central Valley area.
Admission requirements for both tracks include current employment with the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) WIC Program, and six months of WIC experience prior to the application deadline, (February 2, 2024). Applicants must also have a verification statement, indicating they have completed a Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) Program.
The Central Valley WIC Dietetic Internship is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
