The Central Valley WIC Dietetic Internship is a free-standing dietetic internship program that offers supervised practice in a variety of areas including community nutrition, clinical nutrition and food systems management.
The program currently offers two tracks:
Track 1: Master's Degree with Dietetic Internship, in collaboration with Russell Sage College. (The Central Valley WIC Dietetic Internship is not a degree-granting institution. The degree is conferred by Russell Sage College.)
Track 2: Dietetic Internship, for applicants who already have a graduate degree.

Application Deadlines
- October 1, 2024: Application deadline for CDPH WIC employees. Applications need to be submitted through DICAS (Dietetics Inclusive Centralized Application System).
- We have four open positions for the Master's Degree with Dietetic Internship track. Selected applicants start their online graduate classes in May, 2025, and their rotations in January, 2027, in the Fresno/Central Valley area.
- We have two open positions for the Dietetic Internship track, for applicants who already have a graduate degree. Selected applicants will start their rotations in January 2025, in the Fresno/Central Valley area.
Admission requirements include current employment with the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) WIC Program, and six months of WIC experience prior to the application deadline. Applicants must also have a verification statement, indicating they have completed a Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) Program.
The Central Valley WIC Dietetic Internship is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
