To provide a community-focused dietetic internship that fosters the development of multicultural Registered Dietitians who promote healthy lifestyles and improve the nutritional status of Central Valley residents through education and support.
Three Program Goals
The Central Valley WIC Dietetic Internship will recruit, retain, and graduate a highly motivated, competent and diverse population of dietetic interns.
The Central Valley WIC Dietetic Internship will prepare graduates to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and to be culturally sensitive Registered Dietitians.
The Central Valley WIC Dietetic Internship will increase retention rates of Registered Dietitians in the Central Valley by graduating interns who choose to live and work in this area for at least 2 years after fully completing internship requirements.
